Tiger Tales

Galeton Elementary students experience the passion of local stream fishing.  Fourteen elementary students will experience fishing this year with new fishing supplies donated in memory of Vern Osgood.  Vern was a local businessman who had a passion for trout stream fishing.  His family is excited to share that passion with local students.

Timothy Miller, a senior at Galeton Area High School, has been named a Commended Student in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program.  A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program, was presented to this scholastically talented senior by Dr. Freeman, Superintendent, and Mr. Pierce, Principal.

About 34,000 Commended students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.  Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2016 competition by taking the 2014 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
