About Mr. Pierce
Dr. Pierce currently serves as the Superintendent at Galeton Area School District. He lives in Gaines, Pennsylvania with his wife and three children Jackson, Lincoln, & Lyndon.
Dr. Pierce is a graduate of GASD and completed his bachelor’s degree at Bloomsburg University. Following his undergraduate work, he served as the Business Computer & Information Technology teacher at Northern Potter School District, where he also served as Athletic Director and Dean of Students. During this time there he earned a Master’s degree in educational administration from Duquesne University. Following his tenure at Northern Potter, Dr. Pierce joined GASD as the Principal in February of 2014, serving in this position until July of 2022 when he was appointed as the Superintendent at GASD. During his time as Principal, he was also working as a student to receive his Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility from California University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, he earned his Doctorate of Education from Wilkes University. His research interests focus on childhood adversity and how educational systems can impact long-term outcomes.
In his free time, Dr. Pierce enjoys being physically active, hunting, fishing, and camping with his family.
