On Wednesday, April 12, 2023, please join us for the third in a planned series of Community Workshops at the school! Each month, the school will be inviting our parents and community members into the building for a positive, solutions-based discussion about a planned topic. This will give us an opportunity to generate ideas and work together to continue making improvements for our students. We look forward to hearing from our district and hope to see you there! Our meeting topic for April will be "Viewpoints and Misconceptions." The intention is to hear the opinions of those in our district that they may have about education at GASD today. Things have changed a great deal at GASD, and in education in general, over the years, and we would like to have an open conversation about any district members' questions, concerns, or ideas. The meeting will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 5:30PM-6PM in the Conference Room (enter through the main office doors). We hope to see you there!!

Reminder: There will be an early dismissal tomorrow, April 6, 2023 at 1:00PM to start Easter break. School will resume on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.
Power Outage Update: All major building systems are running and we are able to remain in school for the entire day. Please be aware that exterior doors are manually locked at this time, due to the outage, not for any other reason.
Reminder that we will have an early dismissal at 1:00PM this Friday, March 31, 2023.
Due to the continued power outage, GASD will be closed today, March 17th.
Due to a power a power outage at the building, GASD will be operating on a 2 hour delay today. A decision regarding cancellation will be made by 7:45AM.

Due to this afternoon's forecast, GASD will be dismissing early at 12:15 PM.
The fitness center will not be open this evening or Monday, March 13, 2023.
Due to the continued power outage, GASD will be closed today, Tuesday, March 7, 2023. School will be in session this Friday, March 10, 2023 as the make up day. The NHS induction ceremony scheduled for this evening has been cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later date.
GASD will operate on a two hour delay today, Tuesday, March 7 - due to the current road conditions. Currently there is no power at the building. If there is a need to cancel school due to this, that decision will be made by 7:45 AM.
The Junior High basketball game scheduled for this evening has been canceled.
PARAPROFESSIONAL VACANCY
The Galeton Area School District is accepting applications for Part-Time Paraprofessional to work with students individually and in small groups, as directed by a teacher, which may include meeting the students’ academic, social, behavioral, and personal care needs—including lifting up to 75 pounds. Some clerical work may be required—computer software experience preferred. Successful candidate will hold a minimum of 2 years post-secondary education or be willing to meet the requirement through programming provided by the District. School year position, 5.5 hours/day 186 days/year, $13.72/hour.
